Verisyse Lens

The Verisyse™ phakic intraocular lens (IOL) is a plastic lens that is permanently implanted in the eye and attached to the iris to correct moderate to severe nearsightedness (myopia). It is called a phakic IOL because the eye still has its natural lens.

The Verisyse™ is intended for use in healthy eyes, in people with stable vision. The lens is used to reduce or eliminate myopia in adult patients who have:

• myopia ranging from -5 to -20 diopters with less than or equal to 2.5 diopter of astigmatism at the spectacle plane,
• an anterior chamber depth greater than or equal to 3.2 millimeters, and
• stable refraction (less than 0.5 diopters change for 6 months) as determined by their eye doctor.
