Visian Implantable Collamer Lens™ is an alternative to LASIK or PRK. It can offer visual freedom for a wide range of prescriptions.

Visian ICL™ at ReVision

What is Visian ICL™?

The Visian Implantable Collamer Lens™ is a permanent, implantable contact lens.  It is a safe and effective option for a wide range of nearsightedness and astigmatism.

How it Works

  1. A small, self-sealing incision is made in the cornea.
  2. The implant is inserted behind the iris (the colored part of the eye) and in front of your natural lens.

What to Expect

The procedure itself usually takes 20 minutes or less, and both eyes can be treated on the same day.

Factors that will determine if you are a candidate for Visian ICL™ include:

  • Your age
  • Your lifestyle
  • Your refraction
  • Pupil size
  • The health of your eyes
  • Corneal thickness

Life After ICL
Your Consultation

Your Visian ICL™ experience begins with a complimentary consultation. At this visit, you and your Doctor will work together to determine if Visian ICL™ is right for you.

Based on the results of your evaluation and conversations with your Doctor, a procedure other than a contact lens implant may be appropriate. Other procedures include: LASIK, PRK or an Advanced Lens Exchange.

Your Procedure Day

Before your procedure, you will have the opportunity to speak with a ReVision Team Member to ask any additional questions and review your post Visian ICL™ care.

During the procedure, your safety and comfort is our top priority. You will be given drops to numb your eyes. You will remain awake, and your Surgeon will talk you through the entire process.

Life After ICL

We recommend sleeping after your procedure as you will be most comfortable with your eyes closed. Typically, healing from Visian ICL™ can include blurry vision and slight discomfort in your eyes. You may also experience sensitivity to light, redness, and dry or watery eyes. A follow-up exam is scheduled the day after your procedure. Most Visian ICL™ Patients experience significantly improved vision after surgery, and vision continues to improve over the next few days.

Who is the ideal Vision ICL™ candidate?

If your prescription is out of range for LASIK, PRK, or if you have dry eye the Visian ICL™ could be your solution.

What is the Visian ICL™ made of?

A combination of a biocompatible material called Collamer® and a material similar to soft contact lenses.

Is the Visian ICL™ visable to others?

Since the Visian ICL™ is positioned behind the iris, it is typically unnoticeable by you and others.

Will I be able to feel the Visian ICL™ after my procedure?

No, the Visian ICL™ is not attached to any structures in the eye and does not move.

How is the Visian ICL™ different from LASIK?

LASIK corrects vision by changing the shape of the cornea while the Visian ICL™ is an implant in the eye that is placed in front of the natural lens to correct your vision.

Does the experience of my Surgeon matter?

While developments in technology have led to improved surgical outcomes, your Surgeon's training and experience are still the most important factors in achieving exceptional visual outcomes.

What is the price of Visian ICL™?

Visian ICL™ is an investment in the quality of your life. Your personalized procedure and pricing options are reviewed during your complimentary consultation.
