Visian ICL™ & Visian Toric ICL™ at ReVision

What is Visian ICL™?

The Visian Implantable Collamer Lens™ (ICL) and Visian Toric ICL™ are permanent, implantable contact lenses.  It is a safe and effective option for a wide range of nearsightedness and astigmatism.

How it Works

  1. A small, self-sealing incision is made in the cornea.
  2. The implant is inserted behind the iris (the colored part of the eye) and in front of your natural lens.

What to Expect

The procedure itself usually takes 20 minutes or less, and both eyes can be treated on the same day.

Factors that determine if you are a candidate for Visian ICL™ and Visian Toric ICL™ include:

  • Your age
  • Your lifestyle
  • Your refraction
  • Pupil size
  • The health of your eyes
  • Corneal thickness

Your Visian ICL™ experience begins with a complimentary consultation. At this visit, you and your Doctor will work together to determine if Visian ICL™ or Visian Toric ICL™ is right for you.

Based on the results of your evaluation and conversations with your Doctor, a procedure other than a contact lens implant may be appropriate. Other procedures include: LASIK, PRK or an Advanced Lens Exchange.

Before your procedure, you will have the opportunity to speak with a ReVision Team Member to ask any additional questions and review your post Visian ICL™ care.

During the procedure, your safety and comfort is our top priority. You will be given drops to numb your eyes. You will remain awake, and your Surgeon will talk you through the entire process.

We recommend sleeping after your procedure as you will be most comfortable with your eyes closed. Typically, healing from Visian ICL™ can include blurry vision and slight discomfort in your eyes. You may also experience sensitivity to light, redness, and dry or watery eyes. A follow-up exam is scheduled the day after your procedure. Most Visian ICL™ Patients experience significantly improved vision after surgery, and vision continues to improve over the next few days.
