Intacs™ at ReVision
What are Intacs™?
Intacs™ are clear, micro-thin prescription corneal implants. When placed between the layers of corneal tissue, they cause the central cornea to flatten, correcting mild nearsightedness. They add support to corneas that have been weakened by a condition called keratoconus.
How it Works
- Two self-healing incisions and channels are made in the cornea.
- Two ring segments are inserted into the channels created in the cornea.
What to Expect
The Intacs™ procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Most Patients resume normal activities within a day or two and notice improvements in their vision as early as the next day.
