Laser Treatment for Dry Eye
Jan Schumer, wife of Dr. Schumer, was treated for Dry Eye this week after suffering from a condition called meibomian gland dysfunction and ocular rosacea.
“My eyes often felt gritty and dry, and when I woke up this morning I had no discomfort at all.” The dry eye laser treatment acts like a warm compress treatment and opens the glands of the eye. The laser treatment is done on the skin on the cheeks below the eye and over the nose. Several treatments are recommended over the course of several months. It may also be recommended that you do in-house allergy testing, to make sure that the correct diagnosis is made.
