Saving Lives Through Street Mediation

Halt Violence is a grassroots nonprofit committed to saving lives and changing minds through street mediation. The organization is actually on the streets of Columbus’ most violent neighborhoods talking to community members in an effort to end gun violence.

SQUASHING BEEF ON THE STREETS

By building relationships and trust, Halt Violence Street Mentors keep the lines of communication open to solve conflicts peacefully. They also present positive, life-changing alternatives to those wanting to change the trajectory of their future. The nonprofit provides opportunities for community members to earn higher education degrees and find long-term employment through partnerships with local businesses. HELPING AT-RISK YOUTH SUCCEED

Halt Violence is also reaching at-risk youth by offering tutoring services and educating parents about warning signs to be aware of at home. The nonprofit’s two Columbus locations provide a safe space for anyone to come and find assistance and an alternative to violence.
